RALSTON, NE – The Omaha Beef Professional Indoor Football team announced that they have signed former University of Nebraska quarterback, Ryker Fyfe for the upcoming season. Fyfe walked on to the Cornhuskers in 2013 and earned a scholarship prior to the 2014 season. Fyfe would play in eight games his senior season, as the Huskers compiled a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Music City Bowl against Tennessee. Previously, Fyfe was a standout high school quarterback and track athlete at Grand Island High School. During his senior season, he was selected as a first team all-state quarterback by the Omaha World-Herald.

Fyfe is excited to join the Omaha Beef and continue his career. “Really, I was just excited at the opportunity to continue my football playing career. I have the desire and passion still burning inside me as I felt as if I had unfinished goals that I wanted to accomplish,” Fyfe said. “Playing for the Beef gives me that opportunity. I feel this coaching staff and organization is putting me, and this entire team in a position to succeed. I’m excited for the opportunity to get back on the field and play”.

Beef Head Coach James Kerwin thinks Fyfe has the ability to take his game to the next level. “When watching Ryker’s game film, there were many things that got, not only myself, but also Offensive Coordinator Chuck Wright excited,” Kerwin said. “Ryker has many of the tools necessary, to not only compete, but thrive at the indoor game and beyond. Our job is to make him the best possible player that he can be and to put him in situations where he, and the team will be successful. I know that he is willing to put in the hard work. We’re lucky to have Ryker wearing an Omaha Beef uniform this season”.
