With the Duke City Gladiators hosting the Sioux City Bandits this weekend in Champions Bowl IV sponsored by Baymont by Wyndham, the Champions Indoor Football league is pleased to announce the following team and individual player awards for the 2018 season as voted upon by the CIF board of directors.

Darlene Jones Franchise of the Year – Salina Liberty

This award is given to the best overall franchise during the season. Attendance, public relations, marketing, efforts to improve the CIF, performance on the field, community involvement and overall participation and representation of the CIF were all taken into consideration.

Executive of the Year – Ricky Bertz, Salina Liberty

This award is given to the CIF Team Owner, General Manager, or Front Office Employee that performed above and beyond for the 2018 season. Team management and guidance, participation on league matters, sales, leadership, efforts to improve the league, and overall representation of their respective team and the CIF.

Best Fan Base – Quad Cities Steamwheelers

This award is given to the team with the fans that showed the most enthusiasm, character, energy, and overall appreciation for their team.

Game Operations – Texas Revolution

This award is given to the team that did the best job with game presentation including; half-time shows, giveaways, music, on-field promotions, etc.

Dance Team – Omaha Beef

This award is given to the team that is considered to have the most talented cheer/dance team. Factors that were taken into consideration were uniforms, class, routines, and crowd interaction.

Community Relations – Amarillo Venom

This award is given to the team that exemplified outstanding service and dedication to their surrounding community.

Media Relations – Salina Liberty

This award is given to the team that had outstanding performance in media relations for the 2018 season.

Coach of the Year – Dominic Bramante, Duke City

This award is given to the coach that did the best overall job with his team both on and off the field.

League MVP – Darrian Miller, Sioux City Bandits

156 carries - 632 yards - 25 rushing touchdowns - 18 receptions - 150 yards - 3 receiving touchdowns

Co-Offensive Player of the Year – Darrian Miller, Sioux City Bandits

156 carries - 632 yards - 25 rushing touchdowns - 18 receptions - 150 yards - 3 receiving touchdowns

Co-Offensive Player of the Year – Dominique Carson, Salina Liberty

126 rushes - 667 yards - 18 rushing touchdowns - 27 receptions - 345 yards - 6 receiving touchdowns

Co-Defensive Player of the Year – Solomon St Pierre, Sioux City

55 tackles - 11 interceptions - 2 tackles for loss - 13 pass break-ups

Co-Defensive Player of the Year – Jayson Serda, Duke City

88 tackles - 5 sacks - 17 tackles for loss - 3 fumble recoveries – 1 interception

Special Teams Player of the Year – Greg Conry, Sioux City

22/34 field goals - 75/86 point after attempts - 149 total points

Rookie of the Year – Solomon St Pierre, Sioux City

55 tackles - 11 interceptions - 2 tackles for loss - 13 pass break-ups

The 2018 Champions Indoor Football league All-Conference and All-League teams will be announced on July 3rd. Champions Bowl IV sponsored by Baymont by Wyndham can be watched live on PlutoTV, with the game scheduled to start at 7:00pm CST.
