Dr. Ken Vehec of Kansas City Phantoms Ownership said, “The Kansas City Phantoms inaugural season was an experience that comes along with limited occasions in professional sports. Coach Coffin was instrumental in bringing indoor football back to Kansas City. His ability to recruit the players and field our team in short order was paramount to the Phantoms first year of play. Teams which consistently perform at the highest levels are able to come together and be unified across the organization. We will make that a priority for the upcoming season. To ensure that the Kansas City Phantoms can continue to grow and succeed, we have, with Coach Coffin’ s direct input, decided that a change in the head coaching position is required for the upcoming 2018 season."
Days like today are difficult on all fronts, but necessary for us to achieve our goals and fulfill our commitments to our fans. We greatly appreciate the contributions that Coach Chris Coffin made to the Phantoms. We have immense respect for his love of the game distinguished career as a player, and his potential as a coach on any level, and wish him well in the future.”
The Kansas City Phantoms will begin searching for their new head coach immediately as tryout camps for the 2018 season will begin this August. Dates for the tryouts will be placed on the website: kcphantoms.com. once sites are confirmed.
