Derek Kendall-Campbell Signs With Salina Liberty

Derek Kendall-Campbell, a Manhattan native who played his final year of college ball for Fort Hays State, has signed a 2019 contract with the Salina Liberty.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Kendall-Campbell was an all-state running back at Manhattan High School. He played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College (2010-11), rushing for 857 yards on 170 carries and scoring 11 touchdowns.

Kendall-Campbell then played one season at Eastern New Mexico before transferring to Fort Hays State where he rushed for 360 yards and scored five TDs during the2015 season.

Kendall-Campbell and his Liberty teammates will report to Salina on March 1, with the first practice on March 5. Salina open its fourth season on March 16 with a preseason game against KC Marshals at Tony's Pizza Event Center, followed by a regular season road game at Amarillo on March 23.

Salina will be part of the CIF's Northern Conference with the Wichita Force, Sioux City Bandits and Omaha Beef. The Southern Conference features the Amarillo Venom, Oklahoma Flying Aces, Duke City Gladiators and Texas Revolution. The Liberty will play a 12-game regular season schedule in 2019.
