RALSTON, NE - With less than two weeks before training camp starts, the Omaha Beef are continuing to add dynamic players and solidifying their 2019 roster.
ANTONIO BRAY - RB
Antonio Bray joins the Omaha Beef, but is a veteran indoor player that the Beef coaching staff has watched. “Running the ball, catching the ball, or returning kicks, it doesn’t really matter when it comes to Antonio’s skill set,” states Omaha Beef Head Coach James Kerwin. “The plan is really simple, get Antonio the ball and let him try to get it in the endzone. He is a weapon in all aspects of the game and should be a league leader in all-purpose yards this year, if we’re fortunate enough to keep him around that long”. In 2017, Bray led the Champions Indoor Football league with an impressive 127.5 all purpose yard per game to go along with 23 total touchdowns.
JAVON BELL - WR
Javon Bell brings another receiving threat to what promises to be a high scoring 2019 Beef offense. Bell averaged 51.5 receiving yards per game in the IFL with Cedar Rapids in 2018, 5th best in the league along with 55 receptions and 14 receiving touchdowns, ranking him 6th in the league for both categories. Beef Assistant Head Coach Marvin Jones had Bell last season, when he was head coach of the Titans. “Javon is a former player of mine that we are excited to have join us in Omaha,” Jones said. “Having a defensive background, I know the match-up problems that he can create for opposing defenses. We jumped at opportunity to have Javon join the Beef family. He’ll make players around him better because of the attention he will generate from opposing defenses”.
DEQUAN IVERY - DL
The former University of Miami defensive star looks to make an immediate impact on the defensive line. Marvin Jones on another one of his former players, “Making the transition to the indoor game can be a challenge for most players, however Dequan isn’t one of those,” Jones stated. “The fact that he enters 2019 with indoor experience will make him even more dangerous. He can penetrate and be disruptive force like very few can, in both the indoor and outdoor game. It won’t take very long for him to garner the attention of opposing offenses and force them to scheme different ways to slow him down”.
