Kelvin McCoy returns for his second season with Salina Liberty

Offensive lineman Kelvin McCoy has signed and will return for his second season with the Salina Liberty, which posted a 10-4 record in the Champions Indoor Football league during the 2018 season.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound McCoy, a native of Inglewood, Calif., played two years at El Camino Junior College before transferring to Chowan University in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was named All-CIAA honorable mention in 2015 as an offensive lineman.

Harris was the starting center for the defunct Dodge City Law in 2017 and also plays the guard position. He helped the Liberty offense average a league-high 55 points a game in 2018.

The Liberty open their fourth season March 16 at home with a pre-season game against Topeka Flight at Tony's Pizza Event Center. Salina will be part of the CIF's Northern Conference with the Wichita Force, Sioux City Bandits and Omaha Beef. The Southern Conference consists of the Amarillo Venom, Oklahoma Flying Aces, Duke City Gladiators and Texas Revolution. The Liberty will play a 12-game regular season schedule in 2019 and one pre-season game.
