The Salina Liberty have announced that veteran wide receiver Rashad Pargo will return for the second season with the team.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Pargo, a native of Aberdeen, Miss., was the third-leading scorer for the Liberty last season. The Liberty finished with a 10-4 record and just missed playing for the Champions Indoor Football's league championship.
Pargo caught 45 passes for 473 yards and 13 touchdowns during the 2018 season. He also rushed for a touchdown and had 15 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.
After starring at Aberdeen High School, Pargo played two seasons at Itawamba Community College (2009-11) before spending a year at Mississippi Valley State and a final year at Faulkner (Ala.) University. He played for the CIF's Dodge City Law during the 2017 season and was featured two consecutive weeks in ESPN Sportscenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day.
The Liberty open their fourth season on March 16th for a pre-season game against Topeka Flight at Tony's Pizza Event Center, followed by a regular season road game at Amarillo. Salina will be part of the CIF's Northern Conference with the Wichita Force, Sioux City Bandits and Omaha Beef. The Southern Conference consists of the Amarillo Venom, Oklahoma Flying Aces, Duke City Gladiators and Texas Revolution. The Liberty will play a 12-game regular season schedule in 2019.
